At **ClauseGuard**, we are committed to protecting the privacy of freelancers, consultants, and creators who use our platform. This Privacy Policy details exactly what information we collect, how it is used, and who we share it with.

Disclaimer: ClauseGuard is an AI-powered contract helper. We are not a law firm, we do not employ attorneys, and we do not provide legal counsel. None of the analysis generated by our tool constitutes legal advice.

1. What We Collect

  • Account Information: Your name, email address, and account password. Passwords are encrypted and securely hashed using `bcryptjs` before storage.
  • Contract Submissions: The plain text of contracts you paste or the text extracted from documents (PDF/DOCX) you upload for review.
  • Analysis Results: The generated risk cards, verdicts, category flags, and alternative suggested revisions.

2. How Your Contract Text is Used

  • AI Analysis: When you request a review, the contract text is sent via a secure API request to **Google's Gemini API** (`gemini-3.6-flash`) for structural parsing. Your data is not used by Google to train public models.
  • Dashboard Caching: Your uploaded contract text and analysis reports are stored in our secure database (Supabase/PostgreSQL) so that you can access your review history from your dashboard at any time.

3. Third Parties

We share your data only with third-party service providers necessary to operate our product:

  • Google: Handles AI analysis of the contract text via the Gemini API.
  • Paystack: Handles secure transaction processing and recurring subscription billing. **ClauseGuard does not store or process your credit card numbers or billing details.** Paystack collects and processes payment information securely on their PCI-compliant gateway.

4. Data Retention

We retain your name, email, contract texts, and analysis history in our database for as long as you maintain an active account, so you can easily access past reports.

5. Your Rights and Account Deletion

You have the right to request deletion of your account and all associated contract records at any time.

*Note on System Limitations: Automated, self-serve account deletion is not yet available directly within your dashboard. To delete your account and wipe all stored contract data, please email us at abdulyekeenhanif4@gmail.com. We will process your deletion request manually within 7 business days.*
